Nick Vandenberg is a PhD student in Dr. Gaffney’s In-Vivo Biomechanics Lab. The main goal of his doctoral research is to develop musculoskeletal models that will aid in the study of multi-joint effects of trans-femoral, osseointegrated prostheses.
Nick grew up in northern Wisconsin. He was a multi-sport athlete and was active in Boy Scouts, achieving the rank of Eagle. He received an academic scholarship to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he studied Biological Systems Engineering (focusing in Biomedical Engineering). He then furthered his education at the University of Colorado-Denver, earning a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis in Biomechanics.
